Email Configuration

Outlook Express 5
1.

Click on the Tool option and then on Accounts.


2.

Click on the Add button to display various kinds of accounts.


3. Click on the Mail... option for adding new email address.


4. Type in a name in the text field that you would like to it appear on outgoing emails and messages.

Click on the Next > button after you have done the above.


6.

Choose the radio button for the first option and type in the email address you want to add in the text field.

7. Click on the Next > button.


8. Choose the server and type in the Incoming and Outgoing mail server as shown below.
9. Make sure there is no typo error before proceeding on to click on the Next > button.


10. Type in the exact Account name and Password you have registered with Pacific Internet.
11.

Click on the Next > button.


12. Click on the Finish button.

Click on the < Back button only if you need to change any settings previously made.


  Outlook Express 6  
  1. Launch Microsoft Outlook Express 6.  
  2. Go to step 4 if this is the first time you launch Outlook Express 6. Otherwise, go to step 3.  
  3.

Click on Tools and select Accounts from the drop-down menu.

 
  4.

Click on the Add button and choose Mail.

 
  5.

You will be prompted to enter your name. Then Press Next.

 
  6.

Enter your email address. Once done, press Next to continue.

 
  7.

You will see the E-mail Server Names dialog box. If you want to pop your Pacific Mail Account, the mail servers would have been pre-configured as follows:

  • Incoming mail server : pacific.net.sg
  • Outgoing mail server : smtp.pacific.net.sg

Press Next to continue.

 
  8.

Your userid will automatically appears on the Account Name field. If you would like Outlook Express to remember your email password, enter your email password here and check the box "Remember password".

 
  9.

Hit Finish to complete the Mail Setup.

 

 
Netscape Messenger 4.7  
  Email settings  
  1.

Launch Netscape Communicator and click on the Edit option to select Preferences.

 
  2. Double-click on the Mail & Newsgroups category and choose Identity.  
  3.

Enter user's name in Your name text field and user's Email address in Email address text field.

 
  4. Choose Mail Servers from Mail & Newsgroups category.  
  5.

Under Incoming Mail Servers section, highlight the mail server name and click on the Edit button.

 
  6. Select the General tab and key in the appropriate names in the text field as shown below.  
  7.

Click on the OK button after completing the above.

 
  8.

Make sure the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server and Outgoing mail server user name text fields are correctly filled-in.

 
  Newsgroup settings  
  9. Click on the Newsgroup Servers from the Mail & Newsgroup category.  
  10.

Click on the Add... button to setup a newsgroup.

 
  11. Type in the following Server and Port as shown below.  
  12.

Click on the OK button to exit the Newsgroup Server Properties window.

 
  13.

Click on OK button to exit the Preferences window.

 

 
  Netscape Messenger 6.2  
  1.

Launch Netscape Communicator and click on the Tasks option to select Mail & Newsgroups.

 
  2.

Click on ISP or email provider to start the email client setup and click on Next to continue.

 
  3.

Enter user's name in Your name text field and user's Email address in Email address text field. Click Next to continue.

 
  4.

Under Incoming Servers section, type in pacific.net.sg for the POP mail server and smtp.pacific.net.sg for outgoing mail server. Click Next to continue.

 
  5.

Next screen require user's name, type in userid as Pacific Internet Issued. Click Next to move to next screen.

 
  6.

Type userid for Account Name as show on below and click Next to continue.

 
  7.

Finally the screen will prompt you a summary page of the email client settings, if you have any changes click on Back, or else just press Finish to complete.

 
  8.

Type in your password when the following screen appears and OK to download the mail.

 
  9.

You will see the Netscape Messenger screen with the useful features.

 

 
  Netscape Messenger 4.7 (Mac)  
  Email Setting  
  1. Launch the Netscape Messenger.  
  2. Click on Edit and select Preferences.  
   
 
  3. Click on Identity under Mail & Newsgroup.  
  4. Enter user's name in Your name text field and user's Email address in Email address text field.  
   
 
  5. Select Mail Servers under Mail & Newsgroup.  
  6. Click on the Add button to setup an email account.  
   
 
  7. Select the General tab and key in the appropriate names in the text field as shown below.  
  8. Click on the OK button after completing the above.  
   
 
  9. Make sure the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server and Outgoing mail server user name text fields

10. Select News Servers under Mail & Newsgroup.  
  11. Click on the Add button to setup a newsgroup.  
   

 
  12. Type in the following Server and Port as shown below.  
  13. Click on the OK button to exit the Add News Server window.  
   

 
  14. Click on the OK button to complete the setup.  
       
  Outlook Express 5.0 (Mac)  
  Configuring New Profile  
  1. Click on the File option, click on Switch Identity.  
   
 
  2. Click Switch button to proceed.  
   
 
  3.

 Click on the New button to add a new proile.

 
   
 
  4. Type in a name you desire as a new identity.  
  5. Click on OK button to complete this task.  
   
 
  6. Click on the Tool option and then on  Accounts.  
   
 
  7. Select the Mail tab and click on the New Button.  
   

 

 
  8. Type in a name in the text field that you would like to it appear on outgoing emails and messages.  
  9. Click on the right arrow after you have done the above.  
   
 
       
  10. Choose the radio button for the first option and type in the email address you want to add in the text field.  
  11. Click on the right arrow to proceed.  
   

 
       
  12. Choose the server and type in the Incoming and Outgoing mail server as shown below.  
  13. Make sure there is no typo error before proceeding on to click on the right arrow.  
   
 
  14. Type in the exact Account name and Password you have registered.  
  15. Click on the right arrow.  
   
 
  16. Type in a name in the text field for display purposes.  
  17. Click on the Finish button.  
  18. Click on the left arrow only if you need to change any settings previously made.  
   
 
  19. Select the News tab and click on the New Button.  
   
 
  20. Type in a name for the Organization.  
  21.

Click on the right arrow to proceed.

 
   
 
  22. Type in the server of Internet news that Pacific Internet has given to you (as shown below).  
  23. Click on the right arrow to proceed.  
   
 
  24. Type in a name in the text field for display purposes.  
  25. Click on the Finish button.  
   
 
  26.

Click on the Edit option and then on Preferences.

 
   
 
  27.

Set the settings as shown below click on the OK button.

 
   
 
  28. Click on the Close button to save the settings
